Inspired by the vision of an exciting showcase of percussive virtuosity, ‘Maraca2 Percussion Duo’ formed in 2004. Since then the duo have received critical acclaim and have transpired into the UK’s most Internationally established percussion duo. An eclectic blend of repertoire spanning over 200 years, from marimba arrangements of popular classics such as Chopin’s Fantaisie Impromptu in C Sharp Minor, to influences of Jazz, Funk and Pop, have taken Maraca2 extensively around the World, including South America, Caribbean, USA, Europe and a recital on the World’s biggest percussion stage, the ‘Percussive Arts Society International Convention’, 2009 in Indianapolis, USA (PASIC). 2010 has also seen Maraca2 appear, representing Great Britain at the International Marimba Festival and conference in Minneapolis, USA.

Maraca2 are featured in the June edition of the PAS Percussion News. The duo's PASIC Concert performance will be enhanced by a USA Tour, beginning late October running through PASIC! This 2013 USA Clinic Tour will involve performing extracts from several new commissions to be premiered at PASIC 2013, discussions on striving for a unified sound, rehearsal techniques, analysing scores, musicianship within an ensemble, promotion and marketing, commissioning, endorsements and more..
